PROJECT:
This project combines photography with typography, layout design, and packaging at two different scales (CD & LP). I will use photography to communicate a concept inspired by the style of music and and a pre-existing album title and artist. The CD covers should feature only the artist name and title, the photography should reflect the sound of the band, lyrics in the songs, and the overall style of the artist.

Ginkgo by Panchiko (2025)
The album is indie rock, art rock, and neo-psychedelia album that blends alternative and electronic influences. I wanted to express how this type of music feels with creating visuals that reflect the songs of the album.
Process:
My idea was to create an sort of illusion that has movement and bright colors, reflecting the neo-psychedelia feel of the album. I started by shooting in a studio, by putting multi colored bingo chips on top of a light table. I then propped up a piece of thin glass and covered in aloe vera. I experimented with different materials to create textures on the aloe vera making some interesting compositions.

Edited Images:
I then edited the pictures further by making sure all the colors to be more expressive, matching them up more cohesively and also cropping some of photos to be more abstract.
